Govt change, only rumor: Leader Sitaula
Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said that there was no possibility of changing the incumbent government before the local bodies' election. Talking with journalists at Biratnagar Airport today, leader Sitaula ruled out the rumor of changing government. He added the constitution amendment bill registered in the parliament would be passed forging consensus among the political parties. In another note, he stressed on all party unity for the implementation of the constitution.
PM Dahal directs for local elections
Prime Minister and chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal has directed the party cadres to be prepared for local bodies' election. Speaking in a party cadres' training here today, PM Dahal shared that the local bodies' elections would be held according to the new federal structure. He added that the elections were essential to institutionalize the democratic system. PM Dahal further shared that the local bodies' election could be held as per existing structure if consensus was not forged on new set up. In another context, he reiterated that the constitution amendment bill registered in the parliament would not be withdrawn. Party cadres of Province No 7 attended the training.
Agitation does not resolve crisis: Minister Giri
Minister for Irrigation Deepak Giri has urged all political parties to be responsible towards the people and the country. Speaking in a press meet organized by the Nepal Press Union Banke chapter today, Minister Giri said that some forces were misleading the people in the name of province demarcation, adding that the issues of demarcation does not affect the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.
In another note, Minister Giri further said that the ongoing agitation in the name of province demarcation does not give an outlet to the crisis therefore parties should forge consensus on resolving issues. He further shared that government was working out to remove the obstacles seen at various level in national pride irrigational projects in the country.
